Alejandra Alonso Rojas went with a calm and peaceful vibe for her fall 2024 collection, taking inspiration from the juxtaposing energies of the city and nature.
“I was really thinking when I meditate about how I find myself in these very peaceful places with sounds,” Alonso Rojas said backstage. “It could be the wind and the leaves or even when nature gets really aggressive — there’s still something really powerful and empowering about it. I really found out that I need those two energies: the inspiring city and the discomfort of it with all of the sounds and the beauty of nature.”
Alonso Rojas interpreted this inspiration through an earthy color palette, nature-inspired prints and multiple fabrications ranging from airy silks and soft cashmeres to chocolate-colored leathers and velvets. The designer’s prints, such as a leaf print that she created by hammering actual leaves onto a fabric and having it digitalized, were a nice addition to the pieces, giving many feminine styles an eye-catching element. Standout styles included two of the closing dresses, such as a corset-style black and green maxidress and a silk off-the-shoulder one with exaggerated straps.
“Another mix of elements, which I find really interesting, is the combination of masculinity versus femininity,” she continued. “I think it’s very important for the brand for these nonchalant elements and the clash between the eveningwear and the daywear.”

The masculinity came through Alonso Rojas’ suiting and heavier fabrications. She created several styles in a tan herringbone fabric, which had a subtle gold motif throughout the print that added a touch of softness to the styles. The heavier outerwear also included the leaf print as a silk lining as a way to juxtapose femininity and masculinity, according to the designer.
Alonso Rojas’ fall 2024 collection was a refined update to the designer’s tried-and-true silhouettes and design codes and showed her skill in juxtaposing masculinity and femininity for a well-rounded collection.
